The Curse of Jeff

This was my third film, but I tell everybody it was my first. It got shortlisted for the BBC New Talent Filmmakers Award in 2004. It was then selected to tour cinemas nationwide in 2005 as part of the Independent Cinema Office’s BEST OF BRITISH programme. Not bad for a first film!

Scottie and Todd’s Swimming With Sharks Experience

Maybe next time I should try a character whose accent I can do.

This was the result of a last-minute booking to do five minutes at The Stand in Newcastle. I was going to do straight stand up, but I’m back there in a couple of weeks and didn’t want to repeat myself, so the afternoon of the gig I rewrote a two-hander sketch into a monologue, fleshed it out a bit and… this happened.

It’s the first time I’ve done character stand-up, and I really enjoyed it. I think I’d like to gig as Scottie again. He’s way more relaxed about it all than I am.

Distraction Jackson

Here’s the film we made for the National Film Challenge 2011. It was written and made in 48 hours. It’s quite funny. We got in the top 11 out of, ooh, millions of entries probably. Maybe hundreds. Anyway, we did quite well. See what you think.

We won best use of genre – mockumentary. Not even best use of bubbles, or most realistic weeing on the floor scene. Travesty? You decide.
